Subaru Wins Consumer Reports Best Brand

Today Subaru was named 2019’s best brand by the experts at Consumer Reports. Individually, the Subaru Forester and Subaru Ascent took home best-in-class awards.
Winning a Consumer Reports award is one of the most prestigious trophies an automotive brand can win in a given year. Consumer Reports experts put vehicles through rigorous tests and their results have no bias behind them.
Consumer Reports completes a road test and surveys owners to reach their final score. A vehicle must also have standard automatic emergency braking to be considered for this award.
"Subaru has been on a roll lately with some all-new and redesigned models that have really hit the mark. That's not easy to do," said Jake Fisher, senior director of automotive testing at CR. "It's usually the case that when brands make significant changes to their vehicles or introduce new ones, their reliability suffers and they slide down in our brand rankings. But those at the top are clearly figuring out how to buck that trend, and it's good news for consumers."
This award comes as no surprise to everyone here at Waikem Subaru. It’s hard to find a better brand than Subaru. New models like the Subaru Ascent set the standard for the third row SUV. Recent redesigns to the Forester, Outback, Legacy, Crosstrek and Impreza lead to better fuel economy, more technology, advanced safety and a more comfortable ride.
Subaru Eyesight is now standard on many Subaru models as well. Eyesight is the best set of advanced safety features and includes:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control –Set a safe distance and a safe speed, the Subaru will do the rest. Your vehicle will automatically slow down and speed up based the traffic around you, and you will always maintain a safe distance around other vehicles.
  • Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning – EyeSight monitors your position on the road and will alert you if you sway out of your lane. If you don’t act quickly enough, this system can even steer you back in to your lane.
  • Pre-Collision Braking – This system will alert you of stopped traffic ahead and even apply the brakes if a collision seems imminent. A study by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety found that EyeSight cuts the rate of likely pedestrian-related insurance claims by 35 percent.
  • Pre-Collision Throttle Management – EyeSight detects objects in front of the vehicle that you are likely to hit. It will reduce power from the engine to help minimize the possible impact force and frontal impact damage.
All Subaru models equipped with EyeSight and Steering Responsive Headlights have earned an IIHS Tops Safety Pick award.
Other awards for Subaru this year include:
  • ALG best residual Value
