Review: 2018 Subaru Impreza

The 2018 Subaru Impreza is an American-made sedan with great safety and technology options. Add in the high MPGs, spacious interior and a long list of awards, and it’s hard to find a better sedan for the money.
KBB Best Resale Value
For the fifth consecutive year, Kelley Blue Book gave the Impreza its Best Resale Value Award, meaning it will have the best residual, or resale, value in five years. This is an important and often overlooked element of buying vehicle. Save money now and in the future when you pick this Impreza.
American Made
This is the second Impreza built in the United States at Subaru’s Indiana plant. Subaru invested more than $1.3 billion and hired more than 1,400 workers to build this and other Subarus right here in America.
The Impreza is built on Subaru’s Global Platform architecture, built to enhance safety, comfort, agility and driving pleasure. There is an Impreza sedan and hatchback body style.
Great Technology
The Impreza uses technology to improve safety. The Subaru Eyesight features are the safest technologies you can find today.
Cameras are mounted above the rearview mirror that monitor traffic and react to conditions even before you do.
If it senses danger or a collision, Subaru EyeSight will alert you through audible chimes and visible warning lights. Eyesight can also apply the brakes automatically, optimize your cruise control, and warn you if you sway out of your lane.
Upgrade to the Subaru Starlink Safety and Security Connected Services to get automatic collision notifications. It will alert an advisor in the event of an emergency, plus you'll get enhanced roadside assistance.
New in 2018, the Impreza offers automatic headlight activation when the windshield wipers are in operation.
Entertainment Technology
The Impreza keeps you entertained on the long commute. The STARLINK system connects to some of your phone’s apps for safe access while driving.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are optional features in the 2018 Impreza. Those systems display on the center screen in the same layout as your phone. From there you can make and take hands-free calls, send a text message through voice activation, or even have a text message read over the speakers. These systems let you access apps like Maps, Podcasts, Audiobooks, Skype,  Pandora, Spotify, Sticher, TuneIn, iHeartRadio and others.
Every Impreza comes standard with backup camera, Bluetooth and USB ports.
Spacious Interior
The Impreza has a spacious interior in both sedan and hatchback models. Sedan models have 99.8 cubic feet passenger volume and the hatchback has 100.9 cubic feet of passenger volume. You and everyone in the car stay comfortable on that long road trip.
The Impreza is considered one of the best four-door sedans for traveling with children or pets.
All Wheel Drive
Of course you cannot talk about Subarus without talking about All Wheel Drive. Subaru has the best Symmetrical All Wheel Drive on the road today, and every Impreza comes standard with all wheel drive.
You’ll have an easier winter commute in an Impreza, because it's great in ice and snow. In the summer, that Impreza hatchback model is the ideal choice for hiking, camping or any other outdoor adventure.
Even with the standard all wheel drive, the Impreza gets an EPA estimated 32 city/highway combined miles per gallon. That beats many comparable front wheel drive offerings from Ford, Volkswagen, Hyundai and others.
Built to last
The Impreza is also the longest-lasting vehicle on the road today. Studies from IHS Markit say that 97% of the Subaru Imprezas sold in the last ten years are still on the road today.
The Impreza has 10 different exterior color and five different interior color or fabric options.
