2016 Subaru Outback Earns Top Safety Pick Award

 

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has award the 2016 Subaru Outback with the 2016 Top Safety Pick Award. Receiving a top score of good and overall superior in small overlap front crash, moderate overlap front crash, side safety, roof strength, head restraints and seats.

In their detailed report, IIHS observed through dummy testing that there is a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of severity. For both the driver and the passenger.

The Outback is also packed with two rear seating positions complete with child seat attachment (LATCH) hardware. As well as one additional seating position with a tether anchor and the ability to borrow lower anchors from the other seating positions.

Other safety features include, but are not limited to;

Side airbags: front and rear head curtain airbags and front seat-mounted torso airbags

Rollover sensor: designed to deploy the side curtain airbags in the event on an impending rollover

Seat cushion airbags: separate airbags in the forward portion of the driver and passenger seat cushions to prevent from sliding under the seat belts

Electronic stability control

Antilock brakes

Daytime running lights
